This multicache will lead you to a chapel called St. Ulrich embedded in a nice area near the monastery of Rein. It will take you approx. 1,5 hours and contains 3 stages: stage 1 and 2 are little glassboxes with coordinates, stage 3 is the cache itself. Whether the riddles nor the searching are that hardcore-challenging, its primar purpose is fun and enjoying nature.
Park your car in front of the monastery of Rein, which is situated at N 47°08.123' E 15°17.122'. Someone prefering a longer walk (add 30 minutes in sum) will find parking-space around N 47°08.185' E 15°18.459' (in this case cross the street and pass the farm, you will soon see then on the right hand the monastery and the chapel elevated)
To get to stage one you will have to find the missing coordinates within N 47°0A.BAE’ E 15°BD.CEC’
Arriving at the monastery enter the inner court: Somewhere you will find a plate marking the date and the level of a highwater several years ago. The month of the date is C (January=1 ... December=12).
On the right side of the main-entrance to the church there is another shield fixed. Also this text contains a month, this is X (logic as before).
Now enter the church and pay attention to an angel with a trumpet painted on the ceiling. There is something (Vokativ if I remember exactly) written on the flag hanging down from the trumpet. Count the letters and set it for Y.
Now A = Y - X.
Leave the monastery and find a soldiers monument near the entrance: there is an eagle looking to the direction of a certain number of soldiers missing in action.
The number is 13? Then B = 3.
Or is it 12 (B=9), 11 (B=5) or 10 (B=1)?
That wasn't too complicated, was it?
OK let’s go further on to the chapel of St. Ulrich situated at N 47°08.212’ E 15°16.703’.
The best way to get up is to follow the signpost “Mühlbachweg” for approx. 100 metres, then turn left uphill towards “St. Ulrich Höhenweg”.
In the “smaller part” of the chapel-complex is a cross made of colourful tiles to be seen. Count the tile – beginning from the left – which contains the head of the deer. The number of the tile = E.
Look around and find a plate with a Latin inscription: translate the whole text into German.
OK OK OK just kidding, but seriously folks: there is something written about a century.
This Century = D.
Don’t worry if you should not be experienced in translating Latin, just think logically and have a look on the spoiler - picture “shield”.
Got your things together now? Then further on to stage one and two and finally to the cache.
Don't be confused, both stages and the cache are within a line of 300 metres (no need to climb in steep terrain). Please take care not to be seen by passers-by and hide the glass-jars and especially the cache as well as you found it.
The cache originally contained:
1 logbook - do not remove
2 pencils - do not remove
2 descriptions of Geocaching - do not remove
1 card-game "Schwarzer Peter"
1 puzzle
2 post-it
1 marble
1 flashlight
1 keyring
Good luck and enjoy it!
