The castle Sturmberg is located in Naas close to the city of
Weiz.
In former times it was guarding the entrance to the
"Weizklamm".
In fact there used to be two castles on this hill:
Old Sturmberg build in the 12th century where the cache is hidden
and new Sturmberg build around 1400 which is nearly gone
nowadays.
This is more or less a drive in cache, but the very nice gothic
window you can still see on the donjon was the reason I have
included this castle in my lost stones of styria series.
This cache is also well suited for a short stop on a motorbike tour
through Weizklamm and Rechberg ....
The cache is hidden outside the castle wall, so no need to
remove any stones from the walls!
The cache is a small round plastic bottle.
Die Burg Sturmberg befindet
sich in Naas bei Weiz und hat den Eingang zur Weizklamm
bewacht.
Auf den Hügel standen früher zwei
Burgen:
Alt Sturmberg (12. Jahrhundert) wo auch der
Cache versteckt ist und Neu Sturmberg (14. Jahrhundert) von der
heute fast nichts mehr erhalten ist.
Der Cache ist fast ein drive in cache, aber das schöne gotische
Bogenfenster am Bergfried hat mich dazu veranlaßt den Cache mit in
die "lost stones of styria" Reihe auf zu nehmen.
Der Cache eignet sich auch gut als
Zwischenstopp bei einer Motorradtour durch Weizklamm und
Rechberg.
Der Cache ist außerhalb der Burgmauern
versteckt. Es müssen also keine Steine aus der Mauer entfernt
werden!
Der Cache ist eine kleine runde Plastikflasche.
