Geocaching is a high-tech treasure hunting game played throughout the world by adventure seekers equipped with GPS devices. The basic idea is to locate hidden containers, called geocaches, outdoors and then share your experiences online.
Now you can geocache using your Android phone and Groundspeak's Geocaching for Android Application.
How It Works
Android phones use a combination of GPS, Wi-Fi positioning and cell towers to determine your approximate location. The Geocaching Application then queries the Geocaching.com database in real-time and provides a list of geocaches near you.

Supported Devices
Groundspeak's Geocaching Application is available for Android platforms 1.5 and higher. The application works best with phones that have a built-in GPS system.
If your phone does not support GPS, it will use the cellular network to determine your location. If the phone is unable to determine a location, you will still be able to access cache information and view maps to use in coordination with another GPS device. You will also have access to previously downloaded Pocket Queries and caches saved for offline use.
