Turn a “Muggle” into a Geocacher in One Step

Turning a “muggle” into a geocacher is as easy as giving them a geocaching Starter Kit from Shop Groundspeak. The Starter Kits introduce curious friends and family to geocaching with a combination of must-have items. Depending on which kit you choose, contents may include a lanyard, Travel Bug® set, “The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Geocaching” or even a GPS device. There are six available kits, so you can pick one that’s perfect for the muggle in your life.

If you live outside the US, make sure to visit the list of International Distributors to find everything you need to introduce someone new to geocaching this holiday season.

You can also show friends and family what the new geocacher experience is like by sharing one of the latest videos on Geocaching.com-“Newbie Geocaching 101.”

Where would we find this at $99? Magellan’s site lists it at $179 and so does Amazon.

I don’t see this deal either. What’s up?

  • joshw

Is there a discount code required??

  • Randall

I think either the discount code was left out or the buy now link is not working properly and should be going to a different page.
Either way I hope they fix it soon, I would like to take advantage of this offer.

    Coupon Code is GeocacheWithToughcase

  • ChrisL

I just got mine in the mail. Works good so far. I’m using it with my IPod Touch. What geocaching apps will work with the new Tough Case?

  • Randall

Thanks for the info, but where did you get or find the coupon code?
I ordering mine right now, going to use it with my iPhone.
    Thanks Again

The toughcase is not made for geocaching. It simply doesn’t update position enough to be a geocaching GPS.

  • streamertyer

ToughCase GPS does not update position at walking speeds, making it useless for geocaching. I wouldn’t buy one until they have fixed the issue.

  • Hotmail

It is still too expensive for a DEFECTIVE gps. The ToughCase does not update your location when you’re at walking speed. Geocaching is virtually impossible to do as a result, along with any kind of navigation that involves merely walking or even hiking. Under these circumstances you would have to constantly shut down and re-open whatever app you’re using to force a GPS update. Avoid Magellan products.
