Why this is the Geocache of the Week:

Geocaching is all about inspiring adventure—and what better way to have an adventure than to search through ancient temples for a hidden treasure? This geocache not only shows you some of the history of Myanmar, but also takes you on an Indiana Jones-style treasure hunt.

What geocachers have to say:

“Definitely the best geocache in Bagan for those who like an adventure. On the trip we even saw some human remains nearby that where pretty creepy but only because we took a wrong turning! The monastery was pretty crazy and doing the cache was a great experience. Really felt like Indiana Jones!” – Resetti

“Really creepy but funny. It was one of the most adventurous location we have done.” – Nomad is Beautiful

“i was really like Indiana Jones. And nice view from above. Thanks for heavenly adventure.” – roberttcl007

What the geocache owner, Heiwender, has to say:

“3 days I rode with my bike across the plains looking for little pieces to discover. So I also crossed the Hsin Pyushin Monastic Complex, a wonderful smaller temple complex you usually don`t find in any guide book but its a great spot to view sunset or just hanging out on a wide terrace.
By discovering the temple I also found a hole in the wall, some old buddha statues right inside. I took my torch a found this hidden corridor and when I reached the end I knew that this the perfect spot for a geocache. So I bought a souvenir-box and improvised a logbook. I gladly also found a local who was up to took maintenance but so far he had nothing to do. Whenever somethings wrong the next cacher takes care and almost everyone writes the same: “I really felt like Indiana Jones”. It`s great to leave something on a very special place I have strong memories on and also see that most of the people enjoy this spot so much like me. I got some favorite points and in this case I think it`s not a special caching box but a little adventure on a very special place. I also gets you a little bit thrilled to enter a black hole in a left and lonely temple in the middle of nowhere not knowing whats expecting you inside.”
