On a clear day you can expect great views of Fort Ticonderoga and Lake Champlain below.

Defiant Beacon

Without a doubt this heads the top of my list.  I'm a High Peaks junkie and this cache provides quite a fix!  Somewhat strenuous hike especially in winter, but well worth the effort.

Hurricane Fire Tower

One of my favorites!  Expansive view of the Champlain valley and the Adirondack High Peaks.

Lake Vermont Lookout

An 8.5 - 10 mile round trip hike which includes a moderate climb up Pharoah.  There used to be a fire tower up here but D.E.C. took it down back in the 90's I think.  Several spots on the top offer fine views of the surrounding area.

Another cache that offers great views of the High Peaks.  Why aren't more people getting this one?

Nice Views of Lake Champlain, the bay and the Green Mountains of Vermont.

Rattlesnake Mountain Adventure

Although this is a demanding hike, it goes without saying that it is worth every ounce of effort.  With great weather, the views are spectacular and panoramic.  Make sure you bring your camera!

In life, some things are just plain better than others and that holds true in the caching world.  This is a list of my personal favorites as far as the view one can expect to enjoy while either getting to the cache or from the cache area itself.  Some of these caches will require extra effort on your part, but nothing worth having ever comes easy and "sometimes you just have to climb a Mountain."
