Garmin County Caching
To celebrate the launch of the Oregon 550 Garmin UK is offering UK and Ireland residents
the chance to win a new Oregon 550 and a trip to stunning Newfoundland, Canada by
entering a simple geocaching and photography competition. The contest beings on
Saturday, 27th June, 2009 and runs through 26th September, 2009.
The Oregon 550 is a rugged handheld navigator with a built in digital camera that
enables you to automatically geotag your photos. Its bright full colour screen gives
you the edge whilst navigating and the ability to take eye-catching photos whilst
enjoying the great outdoors.
The photo contest winner will receive a new Oregon 550 that they can use for geocaching
on their trip for two to Newfoundland. With its immense icebergs, humpback whales,
millions of seabirds and breathtaking landscapes, the Province of Newfoundland and
Labrador is a beautiful and magical place.
There will be one winner selected each week of the 12 week contest. Weekly winners
are determined by public vote. At the end of the promotion, Garmin will select one
Grand Prize winner from the 12 weekly winners.
Photos may be submitted from Saturday morning until Friday night of each week. Participants
may submit a total of one photo per designated geocache listing throughout the term
of the promotion. Voting for the prior week of photo submissions will begin on the
Saturday morning immediately following the end of the submission period for the
prior week. The voting period for each week will end Wednesday night.
The winning photographer and a guest will be flown via Air Canada to St. John's,
Newfoundland where they'll stay for 2 nights in St. Johns, 2 nights on the Avalon
Peninsula, and 3 nights on the Bonavista Peninsula. They'll also get car hire for
8 days plus a Garmin Oregon 550 courtesy of Frontier Travel. The 11 runners up will
receive an Oregon 550!
