The ideal light source when backpacking, trekking or backcountry skiing, the pocketsized Black Diamond Orbit lantern is a collapsible mini lantern that weights just 3oz. Packing down from the extend 5.5 to a mere 4, the Orbit still produces a broad light radius of 6 feet and uses just 1 nonglaring LED with dimming switch.
You can easily hang the Orbit form from about anything with the dual hook atop the lantern. The Orbit runs on 4 AAA alkaline batteries or the Black Diamond Orbitspecific NRG2 rechargeable battery kit.

Great, compact lantern with dimmer
This lantern was one of the best we could find for it's price. It's very small and light, which is ideal for camping, and it includes a dimmer.

Great Lantern- Bright or Dim it casts a long shadow
What an excellent LED lantern, incredibly bright for its size and weight. I used it outdoors and it [ca-st] enough light to play cards around or find my way to the nearest tree. It also makes an exceptional reading light with the dimming feature. Batteries lasted a good while, but after two week long trips (moderate use) I had to change them. Fortunately, AAA are pretty light.

Great little lantern/light!!
Excellent backpacking since it is so small but it gives out a lot of light. I really like the dimmer button feature; very useful and it really extends the life of the batteries.

Excellent Lantern
Just finished a seven day kayaking trip camping out each night using the Orbit Lantern. It is so compact and yet did a great job in illuminating the inside of the tent. I really liked the fact that it would dim as well. Definitely worth the money.
