Metolius PAS w/ Element Locking Biner
Yet another example of Metolius' commitment to products that are safer by design, the Metolius P.A.S. Personal Anchor System is designed to give the climber a highstrength anchor connection while threading for the lower, setting up a rappel or belaying. The PAS should replace the daisy chain that many climbers wear affixed to their harnesses for belay changeovers. Daisy chains should NOT be used because they are fullstrength only when loaded in the end loops. The Personal Anchor System is super convenient and easily adjustable just clip the loop which puts you at the correct height and . . . voila! When not in use, just leave it girthhitched to your tiein points, gather the extra loops and clip to the side for compact storage. The PAS is constructed from our superstrong, 16mm Monster Sling webbing.
- Strong and safer than daisy chains; individual loops are full-strength
- More convenient and adjustable than using slings or quickdraws at the anchor
- Stows compactly
- Constructed from our super-strong, 16mm Monster Sling Webbing (27% Dyneema, 73% nylon)
- Length: 42†(107cm)
- Strength: 4050lbf (18kN)
- Weight: 2.9oz / 82g (w/o biner)

Good PAS.
I like that the last loop is a different color-- it makes things simple when trying to find the end of the chain. I used this PAS yesterday while setting up 6 ropes, and when getting on repel and always felt secure. This PAS is light, simple, coils up out of the way, and works exactly the way you would expect it to.

Will never use a Daisy Chain again!
Ok, so once I was shown how a daisy chain can fail I grabbed one of these and have never gone back. No one should be using a daisy as their attachement to an anchor system, especially for natural pro! The other cool thing is it will coil up nicely and keep out of the way when your climbing.

Great PAS, ok Biner
I've used the PAS device before because my climbing partner has the same one. Works great and I feel safe with it. The biner that came with it takes a long time to screw open/shut. For some, this may make you feel safe. For me, on a hanging belay, it is just too time consuming. I'll use the biner for other things, but will buy a new one to use with the PAS.
