Outdoor Research Verglas Gaiter
Extended hikes and climbs always feel better when there isn't mud, rain, snow and grit seeping down into the cuffs of your boots. The waterproof and durable Outdoor Research Verglas Gaiters help keep the uncomfortable stuff out with a rugged and lightweight three-ply Ventia upper fabric upper durably connected to a waterproof Cordura nylon lower fabric. Outdoor Research carefully curved and shaped the Cordura nylon around your boot for improved ventilation and a trail-worthy profile that won't flop or fall apart like some improperly sized gaiters. Verglas Gaiters are built for the long haul--especially in places where reckoning is your only guide.
- Rugged triple-ply 50-denier Ventia upper fabric
- Supple coated 500-denier Cordura® nylon lower (unlined) fabric

- Durable nylon/rubber instep strap for fit
- .75-in. wide webbing and cam buckle up top

Archeologist point of view
As an archaeologist I purchased a set of these gaiters not just for me but also for my wife who is also an archaeologist. These are great for keeping mud and dust from our boots and also for stopping poison ivy from getting all over our clothing and boots. I also agree that the top should be elasticated to help keep them tight. Apart from that they have been a great buy.

Ideal for my snowshoeing...
I've been snowshoeing several times and this time was hands down, my best experience, because of my new Outdoor Research Verglas Gaiters. My feet were not wet afterwards, which kept me warmer. My pant legs stayed dry even in the deeper powder. Love these gaiters would recommend them to anyone.

Good gaiter, needs more elastic
Compared to my 12 year old no-brand gaiters, these have far better material quality, fit the shoes better, and didn't encourage sweat...however, the top calf strap should be elastic in order to maintain tightness and not fold down a couple of inches after some miles of use...
