The Petzl Ascension has an ergonomic design and an insulating elastomeric grip for comfort from the cold. The shape is specifically engineered to keep the Ascension parallel to the direction of the pull. For use on single ropes ranging from 8 mm. to 13 mm. in diameter.

Best ascender on the market
The Petzl ascender is the caddy of ascenders. I'm an Army guy who came up doing nothing but prusic climbing so when I began buying better civilian equipment I couldn't believe the difference and when I tried the Petzl it was clearly in a class of it's own.
