UPDATE 4/4/20: Wander in The Woods is now a four-stage following the loss of the footbridge holding WP4. WP3 has the coordinates for the final. Prior updates and log entries may help keep the difficulty in the same range, and, though this isn't a puzzle cache, reading the listing gains a bit of the history on an older hide and a better experience of doing the cache as a whole.
UPDATE 2/22/20: Wander is missing the underwood beacon for wp4, so this will be a four-stage for now while the missing wp area is sized up. FOR NOW, UNTIL WP3 CONTAINS THE COORDINATES FOR THE FINAL, SIMPLY ADJUST THE COORDINATES GIVEN FOR WP4 IN WP3 BY ADDING .025 TO THE NORTH, AND ALSO ADDING .032 TO THE WEST TO GET THE FINAL COORDINATES. It will be hard to find even a large small container with fifteen inches of snow out there now.
UPDATE 6/12/09: FINAL MOVED, LOCATION AVAILABLE TO PREVIOUS FINDERS. Waypoint 2 was recently found in the open, repositioned by a searcher and subsequently seems to have disappeared. A slightly different version was put in place until I can locate and prepare a duplicate of the original. All other waypoints were checked, and waypoint 3 was found to be in place but very hard to extricate and was adjusted. The final was moved to a different location due to the decomposition of the old log that housed it for many years.

Wander In The Woods is located in the wooded area of O'Hauser Park in the Town of Menasha. As noted in the attributes, there is POISON IVY in this park in the summer months, particularly near wp3. This is a four stage cache requiring searchers to locate three waypoints and a final in the woods near or off trails in O'Hauser Park. Trails may be used to get close to all waypoints, but some are off the trails. This trek will take you near some of the most interesting parts of the woods and fringe areas. As with the "Calls Of The Wild" cache nearby, you should see and hear a variety of birds and other wildlife like deer. Wander In The Woods, however, takes you through an older stand of woodland with a few more aged and hollowed trees. Please tread lightly in areas that have moss and wildflowers to preserve the woodland beauty for all visitors, and, where needed, help with a little CITO as you go.
The three stages preceding the final are mixed micro. The final is a regular sized cache initially stocked with a variety of light sticks, a flashlight, log book and pen, and a green jeep travel bug. In 2015 the ammo can may have been visited, so a small container was put in place while we ponder whether there is still a safe place for an ammo can in O'Hauser.
Difficulty for this cache is 4.0, in part because of the number of waypoints and the nature of the hide for a couple of them. The summer challenges include poison ivy and fickle GPSr readings due to the thick tree canopy, hence the generous hints. Terrain is 3.0 due to fallen trees and branches blocking some direct routes, the position of one of the waypoints, the wet obstacle at the final, and because of the poison ivy in the summer months. Though not winter-friendly, most of the waypoints and final are findable in the winter except during periods of heavy or deep snows. The final may be tough in the winter while the small container is in place.
Coordinates accuracy can be tricky in the woods, but waypoint coordinates are based on several visits over a number of days and should get you close enough to logical spots summarized in the additional hints. THERE IS NO NEED TO DIG FOR ANY OF THE WAYPOINTS; THEY ARE ALL ABOVE THE GROUND OR TREE LITTER EXCEPT FOR PURPOSELY PLACED PIECES OF CAMO. Enjoy wandering, and take your time.
