How Geocaching Works
Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer
This three-stage cache commemorates Rosa Parks, the woman who famously stood up for her civil rights by refusing to “move to the back of the bus”.
To retrieve the container you will need to bring a steel object, less than two inches in size. A LARGE machine screw nut would work well. You'll also need a piece of string at least three feet long.
A round-trip walk is approximately 1.1 miles. If you choose to drive, safe parking (off the street) is available near each of the stages.
1. The published coordinates will take you to stage one. There you can find the coordinates for stage two.
2. At stage two you will find a wooden sign with three numeric digits. Substitute the digits for “A”, “B”, and “C” below for the stage three coordinates.
Latitude for the final = N42 01. _ _ _
Fill in the blanks by calculating (A*500)+(C*3)-1
Longitude for the final = W091 39._ _ _
Fill in the blanks by calculating (C*25)+(A*5)
3. To retrieve the final use the steel object and the string.
This is a “log only” cache. Please do not leave SWAG in the container.
