Geocache Description:

Epta Piges – means Seven Springs. Find the seven springs, and follow the stream to the cache.

The above mentioned coordinates are not the hiding place, but a place where you will find the seven springs coming out of the rocks and continue into a little stream. They are marked with numbered poles, and you will find them just behind the tables at the outdoor restaurant. The water in the springs is potable, and tastes well.

Link: Epta Piges

Park your transport at:

N 36° 15.192 E 028° 06.849, and walk down to the restaurant.

When you have found the springs, then walk to :

WP 1. N 36° 15.247 E 028° 06.829

Here the stream runs into a very long and narrow tunnel, and further on in canals to a lake, from where water are brought to Rhodes town.
Now you have to answer the following questions :

Where does the tunnel end?

1. At N 36° 15.252 E 028° 06.914, then A = 3
2. At N 36° 15.257 E 028° 06.942, then A = 5
3. At N 36° 15.248 E 028° 06.891, then A = 6

Yes, you are right; the easy way to know is to wade through the tunnel, but not the only one. Take off your shoes and take courage. It’s possible to wade upright, the water is not cold and the depth does not exceed 30 centimetres. And it’s allowed, but only to wade in the direction the stream runs. It’s very difficult to pass someone coming from the other direction.
If in doubt, then wait, soon some will try. No dangers, no sea serpent or other monsters.
The tunnel is more than 100 meters long, but less than 200 meters. How long, your GPS can tell you, when you are out in the sunshine. You don’t need a torch.

When you have found the coordinates where the tunnel ends, then continue to :

WP 2. N 36° 15.291 E 028°06.972

What do you find here?

4. One more tunnel, then B = 3
5. A waterfall, then B = 2
6. A bridge, then B = 1

If you have the correct answers, you should be able to find the cache.

The cache is hidden at :

N 36° 15.3(A-B)1 E 028° 06.9(A+B)0

When you have found the cache, you can continue a little along the path. But take care; it’s vertiginous in some places. When going back, please remember that it’s not allowed to wade through the tunnel against the stream.

Small note on cache maintenance: This cache will be maintained, if necessary, by the local geocacher on Rhodes - "rena rhodos"
