Äijönvuoren uusi näkö-/lintutorni tarjoaa hyvät näkymät etelän suuntaan.
The new watchtower in Äijönvuori offers a good view towards southernly direction.
Kätkön nimi juontuu paikallisesta erimielisyydestä siitä, onko vuoren nimi Äijönvuori vaiko Äijänvuori, ellei sitten peräti Äijävuori, vaikka kartoissa paikka onkin selvästi nimetty Äijönvuoreksi. Vuorella on ollut aikoinaan myös TV-lähetin ennen kuin tehokkaampi rakennettiin Sippolaan. Lähetintorni ei tosin ole ollut tällä samalla paikalla.
Kätkö on näkyvissä ja sen löytääkseen ei tarvitse siirtää mitään, mutta pientä haastetta on kuitenkin odotettavissa. Rasia on 35mm filmipurkki, joka ei kuitenkaan itse ole näkyvissä.
Lähistöllä (N 60º 31.139' E 26º 54.073')on Tampsan monttu, Kotkan alueen puhdasvetisin ja yksi suosituimmista uimapaikoista. Eli sään salliessa uikkarit mukaan!

The name of the cache has to do with a dispute over the name of the hill. Some people call it Äijönvuori, others Äijänvuori and some people even Äijävuori. Not that it would make so big a difference to you if you are reading this in English ;) (Ok, ain't so big a difference to Finns either...)
There's also been a TV transmitter on this same hill before a new, more powerful one was built to Sippola. The transmitter tower wasn't on this same spot, though.
The cache is in plain view and there's no need to move anything in order to reach it, but there's still a bit of challenge to be expected. The container is a 35mm film canister, which itself isn't visible.
Nearby (N 60º 31.139' E 26º 54.073') there's what we call "Tampsan monttu", a pond that has the cleanest water in the Kotka area and which is one of the most popular swimming places. So, the weather allowing, remember to grab your swimsuit along!
