Geocache Description:

This ammo can is located along the banks of the Ounce River.

An unmarked access road off of Denver Road is where you'll want to begin. If the road is not gated, feel free to drive in [4WD recommended] as far as you'd like. Otherwise, park at the gate and walk in. It'll be a good idea to get your bearings before you start; there are a lot of twisting trails and it can be easy to get turned around. Once you hear the Ounce River, you know you're getting close. [Make sure you're pronouncing that correctly; it's "oonce."]

Because of the dense foliage, it may be difficult to get an accurate GPS reading. We placed the cache in a pretty obvious spot, so just take a second to look around when you get in the right area.

This land is public and is open to bird and deer hunters, so be sure to take the necessary precautions to protect yourself during hunting seasons. If you come across a large, flat, black rock on a log while looking for this cache, it is where my brother and our family's chocolate lab would stop to rest while partridge hunting out here. Take a moment to remember the pets who've crossed your path along the way. Miss you, Rocky.

Aside from being aware of hunters in the area, be prepared to do a fair amount of bushwacking through the steep terrain.
