Geocache Description:

This Cache is temporarily placed to entice cachers to visit The Northern Highland-American Legion State Forest to see the International Forest Art Wisconsin Native/Invasive Exhibition.

Forest Art Wisconsin’s theme of “Native/Invasive” came out of numerous discussions German curator Ute Ritschel had with forest workers and experts, and it aims to make visible the forest’s ecological, social, and historical nativeness and invasiveness. The natural environment of the forest serves as a laboratory for the artists, who worked with naturalists, foresters and biologists. The installations will stay in the forest all summer and possibly for years to come.

The cache is placed about halfway through the walk at a point where a couple of the more breath-taking installations are. At the halfway point, you will be in the middle of the INNER AND OUTER LANDSCAPES, where you will see a constantly changing piece of art. If you look at this piece from the right angle, you might actually see the cache in the artwork itself, or at least its location.

This is an exceptional installation and no matter what you come away thinking about it, you should at least come away thinking. Wisconsin should be proud to host the first exhibition of this kind in one of our forests. Even if you have every other area cache, please consider coming back for this one, you won't forget it.
