located near the lookout tower at the top of Mt. Whittlesey
SE of Mellen. 
To unlock this cache, you need to know the year located on the
north face of Mellen High School on Main Street in Mellen. The
building is a 3 story structure that is visible from 3 blocks away
(downtown), as well as from the street. cachers can drive along
State Hwy 13 and see the information required. The four digit year
is the combination on the lock. Will confirm number by e-mail if
requested. PLEASE REMEMBER TO LOCK AND REHIDE AS GOOD OR BETTER
THAN FOUND. The cache is in a green ammo box off the ATV trail at
the top of the hill. An ATV is recommended but not required.
The distance from the Lake Drive waypoint to the tower is 1.2 miles
one way, and approx. 3 miles from Mellen High School. It is doable
by foot (I used to run to the top for cross country practice). The
trail to the top brings you through abandoned foundations and
buildings from the ore mining operation. There are also lookouts
that give great views of Mellen and the Penokee Mountain range.
