The cache is placed off of a spur of the Ice Age trail near Ottawa Lake. It's near a place where we spent the night when backpacking a few years ago. The view is wonderful and it is a nice quite place for an afternoon picnic or a sleepover, if you have the time and are so inclined. You can park at N42* 55.129' W088* 28.375 and take the Ice Age trail from there. The container is starting off with lots of goodies, including a 3D puzzle, a hobby knife set, mini-bubbles, tic-tacs, a lizard, and a dog toy and rawhide bone from Rem the Dog. If you go, please be sure to replace the cache exactly as you found it. Thanks!
UPDATE (as of 8/10/02): We revisited the cache again today and (as usual) found that it was no longer hidden in the way it was originally intended when we placed it last year. This cache seems to get changed by every third hunter to visit it. It is now back to the way it was meant to be, so the three star difficulty once again applies. I would have to say it was down to one star when we saw it today. PLEASE,PLEASE,PLEASE pay attention to the way the container is placed and hidden and do your best to return it as you found it after signing the log. Please don't make it easier or harder to find than it was for you. We have had people do strange things to this cache (one hunter even did something that goes against the rules of geocaching as stated on this site) and all I can say is this; If you think the cache is too hard or too easy, feel free to make your own cache someplace else, but PLEASE don't change ours. Thank you, in advance, and HAPPY HUNTING!
