How Geocaching Works

A cemetery with memories of the Great Circus Train.
The WSQ in the cache title refers to Wisconsin Spirit Quest. This acronym is used by cache owners in the state to identify their cemetery cache. While this is located in a cemetery, the spirit of this cache is bright and positive, rather than contemplative. However, as always, please be respectful of the cemetery. If any mourners are present, please be kind and come back another time.
This cache is located in the St. Kilian Cemetery. Please use the drive for parking as the road gets quite busy.
Many years ago, my children and I waited here for the Circus Train to stop nearby. It was very exciting to see it on its path to Milwaukee for the Great Circus Parade. We got there quite early, as there were many people who came to see the train. So we brought along a blanket, and sat in the shade of one of the big trees. Unfortunately, that tree was too close to the railway, but the site of the cache isn't that far away.
Unfortunately, there no longer is a Great Circus Parade. This was a Wisconsin tradition since 1963. Milwaukee hosted the parade from 1985 until 2003, but were unable to maintain funding. The parade moved to Baraboo for 2004 and 2005, but now the Board of Directors has decided to focus on the museum's annual summer performance season rather than continue the parade. What a loss!
Check out the website for more information about the Circus World Museum and the parade: (visit link)
The cache itself is hidden near the outside of the cemetery. You are looking for a camo'd matchstick container. Please cover it up well with the bark so it doesn't disappear.
