FTF-Firth to Find Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Wis Kid: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

Another section of the Ice Age Trail. This is about a 1.6 mile hike in with some rolling hills. The trail (from 245th) follows a road on which you could drive with a high clearance vehicle down part of the trail. It is well marked with yellow paint and has been fairly well maintained.

The cache is close to the trail so minimal bushwacking--the hike in is enough exercise. It is a plastic container about 4"x 8". Please REHIDE IT WELL again because it could be seen by passersby. There is a bench a short distance from the cache area where you can relax with a view of the lake.
It would probably be best to take 245th off Cty E.
I've been told that you can get there from 250th which would be a shorter route but I haven't tried it.
The hike in from CC by Cornell would be even longer.

WARNINGS:
1. This is a hunting area so take please take precautions.
2. There have been reports of possible bear activity by JenHen's cache up the trail by the swamp.

This cache is for those of us who enjoy the journey as well as the find.

The Geocache Notification form has been submitted to and approved by Mike Rivers, of the Wisconsin DNR.
