This cache is a tribute to my new hobby of kayaking that I was able to take up this spring and have been loving it since. And thanks to cachers like OnePaddleShort, Knoozer, and others, I've been able to enjoy GeoCaching while getting outdoors, on the water. So before the paddling season was out, I wanted to contribute this cache, located on an island on the beautiful Eau Claire River.
(This cache re-placed 5/4/2008, see logs. I copied the log entries into the new log book. Honorary FTF to the person/team locating the rehide first. No prize this time, sorry. :-) )
This one's not meant to be too hard or complicated, but will be a nice scenic trip for those embarking on it. Container is a plastic peanut butter jar covered in camo tape. The hide is not difficult but the terrain can be. You'll need a boat for this one. (Unless it's deep winter). You'll probably also want some boots.
One Paddle Short has some quality caches hidden along this stretch as well. Start at "Yellow Banks or Sandy Beach" (by Bea 'n Bapa K) and create your own series as you drift down this stretch of the river.
Cache (when replaced 5/4/8) included pencil, log book, stained glass trinket, Lightning McQueen toy (my son's contriution) and a few other trinkets. Congratulations to RickBlick & Chick on their original FTF and prize of $5 to Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant.
