Geocache Description:

Cache is located within the Trough Creek State Park, beginning on a beautiful trail and then on to a forest road. You will be bushwhacking a total of about 125 feet, with the last 25' becoming steep and rocky.

Parking Coordinates: N 40° 18.652 W 078° 07.587

The cache location is in an area of the park that is not usually seen by visitors, so if you've been to the park before, you should see some new territory. You will see the old cold-blast furnace where they used to make iron back in the 18th century. Be sure to read the information boards concerning the furnace for some interesting history.

To reach this cache, follow the trails and the old forest road until your GPS takes you pointing on a 90 degree turn. The last approximately 125 feet requires some bushwhacking, with the last 25' being over rocky and steep terrain. It would be advisable to wear heavy shoes or hiking boots, and in hunting season, wear fluorescent orange. In the summer, be aware of the possibility of snakes.

The posted coordinates are the location where you will find a container (peanut butter jar covered with camo tape) which contains the tool you will need to obtain the cache container (50 cal. ammo box). Please be sure to return the tool to its container and hiding place for the next cacher to enjoy.

The cache contains tools and useful swag, so try to exchange with a tool theme in mind.

The hint directs you to the cache location, so you may want to bring along a compass. The coordinates for the cache are N40 18.878 W078 07.700, however satellite reception is no better then +/- 38', so a compass may be of some help.
