Geocache Description:

Saturday, February 2, 2008 at 11:00AM.
Bradbury Mountain State Park in Pownal,
Come and join us for a day of winter fun.
If you are an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys playing in the snow,
whether you snowshoe, X-country ski, snowmobile, or just want to bring the kids with their sleds,
theres bound to be some fun for everyone.

Please dress for the cold weather as this event will be held completely outdoors.

If you love the snow, this is one of those winters you wish for.
The park here is covered in trails to snowshoe, X-country ski and even hike.
Here is the link for current trail conditions.

Snowshoe rentals are available at the park. $5/half day or $10/full day

  • 11:00AM - 12:00PM meet at the day area and enjoy a hot beverage before assaulting the trails, and the caches on the mountain. There is a small fireplace next to the pavilion where we can warm up, during the meet and greet. A chance to get to know those cachers, whose logs we always seem to see.
  • 12:00PM - 3:00PM for those with ambition there are 7 caches located in or near the park. For those who do not wish to snowshoe, the summit can be reached by hiking on the groomed trails.
  • 3:00PM - 5:00PM we can share some hot food. Please keep it simple. If you are bringing a hot dish, you may want to bring your own stove. Please add what you are bringing to your attending log. Plates, cups and utensils will also be needed.  This will also give us a chance to trade TB's and discover coins.  As we get closer to the event we will post an updated list of what food is being brought.

The park has a fee for entrance and I have taken care of this for everyone. They are also offering FREE winter camping for those who wish to spend the night. Please let me know about your camping intentions as they will need a weeks notice.
