Geocache Description:

Welcome to Imperial County's oldest active Geocache!

New container added 2/23/25. It's one of those cheap, sugar cookie tins you get for Christmas.

Getting to the site requires a high-clearance vehicle - 4x4 makes life easy, but it's not necessary if you know how to drive in the desert. Access via Ogilvy Rd. (free) or Picacho State Park (fee).

Elevation at site: 960'

There's a log book in the cache - please enter relevant information and/or make something up. The view at cache site is impressive - take your camera. Please leave a rock or two on top of the geocache when you leave to prevent it from blowing off the mountain.

Hint: coming back down the hill may be more challenging than going up. You may want to consider having some Band-Aids standing by in your car, but in case you don't, we've left some in the geocache. The site is not ADA-friendly.

Convenient to the Picacho Peak Trailhead.

Here's a photo sphere of the Geocache. Click and drag to look around, look up and down. Go nuts and zoom in 'n' out. Think: Google Street View.
