Geocache Description:

This cache is inspired by The Da Vinci Code. The trick to this cache is not finding it; the trick lies in opening it. The outside container is a large piece of PVC. Inside the cache lies a puzzle with a log inside. The cache is located less than 100 ft off the trail. The trail is flat and well packed, also well traveled so be carefull.

If you have ever read The Da Vinci Code or watched the movie you will probably recognize this puzzle. The log sheet lies within a homemade cryptex. Inside the cache (camo 3" PVC) rests the puzzle and a piece of paper with a hint required to open the puzzle. I hope you have as much fun finding and opening this cache as I had building it. Please bring a writing utensil since there is little room within the cryptex. In order to get credit for this cache you have to open the puzzle and sign the log. Anyone that reports a find but didn't log their name will be removed. I will be happy to give an additional cryptic hint if you drop me an email.

3/13/08 - New location for the cache due to discovery and vadalizm.

Note: This is a homemade cryptex and that being said please don’t wrench on it. The letters will rotate fairly smoothly but from time to time will get hung up, just give them a little wiggle. Also, the puzzle comes apart easily when the proper code is entered, if it doesn't open with a slight pull then you have entered the wrong code. One final thing, check out the pry marks on the top and bottom of the cryptex courtesy of a local vandal who found the cache in its previous location.
