This is located off Hwy 321 North of Columbia approx. 1 mile inside of Fairfield County from Richland County on the way to Winnsboro.
It is not inside the structure at ground zero...that is way to unstable.
Use extra stealth and watch out for the Vultures...they are all over the place!
This is #98 in a looong series honoring(?) SC Geocachers.
It is also #2 in our "WEIRD SC" Series which will consist of caches placed at locations where either ghosts, unknown creatures, or just plain weird things have occured or exist.
Just what the heck IS a "HAFFY"????
Is that Daffy Ducks half brother?
Or is it someone who "Haffs to cache a lot?"
Or maybe his "P" key on his computer keyboard is broken?
Well, it doesn't matter 'cause if you meet Haffy you will realise he is a great guy!
And rumor control has it he is a pretty good photographer.
We also heard from JAMRASC John & Amy that on a recent caching trip to Beaufort he snored so loud that local bears thought maing season started early!
But all kidding aside Haffy is a great addition to the SC Caching scene (He moved here from Maine, a SERIOUS upgrade!)and is best known for his friendly attitude and warm smile.
So we certainly hope he can keep smiling at this Weird location.
The Devil's Race Track Road looks like it got that name legitimately. It is treacherous and as you find the cache we promise you will get the creeps.
As you replace the cache in it's hiding place turn around and look over acroos the road to your ight a little.
Is that the Devils House?
We have no idea how it got the name or if there is any special reason or story but the name on the sign is good enough to earn it a Weird SC cache!
