Geocache Description:

Located outside Quaker Lake Cemetery in Honor of my Grandmother. Cammo plastic box in an obvious hiding spot once you get near it.

My grandmother, Doris Hill Rowley Tuttle, (1906-2005) was determined to attend high school (8th grade)even though her father opposed it. He never thought she would pass the required spelling test, so he agreed that she could go. When she passed, he tried to discourage her by limiting her food allowance to $1 for the week. When she was home for the weekend, she baked a Hershey's chocolate cake and used the remaining money for milk. This is what she ate for the week, every week, until she completed the 8th grade. My grandmother was a great cook who preferred to eat her dessert first, whenever possible. So, I thought it was fitting to honor her with a dessert recipe swap near her final resting place. Please take a copy of my favorite chocolate cake recipe and leave your own dessert recipe. During our last conversation, my grandmother apologized for not making it to age 99 as she had promised me she would years ago, due to it being my favorite number. Since she was only 2 months shy of her goal, I told her we would just round up. She was 99 in my book and it just so happened that it was the year I began caching. She would have loved caching, maybe as much as dessert? Getting good coordinates was a challenge today, so go 9 big steps from where the metal turns to stone.
