Geocache Description:

When: Sunday, July 27th from 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM.

Where: Lisbon Community Park (Hilltop Pavillion).

Why: A Surprise Birthday Party for Sunshine and an afternoon of geocaching fun. It is not necessary to bring a Birthday Gift.

THE EVENT AND THE PARTY ARE BOTH A SURPRISE SO IF YOU SEE SUNSHINE BETWEEN NOW AND THE EVENT SHHHHH!

Lisbon Community Park is over 100 acres of woods and prairies with over three miles of hiking trails. The park is home to nine permanent caches including the most recent Fox 6 Cache. There is a large playground, picnic shelters, bathrooms and drinking water, a small waterfall and numerous chainsaw sculptures throughout the park. The Bugline Recreational Trail also runs through the park. There are over 100 permanent caches within 5 miles of the park.

Hotdogs, chips and Birthday Cake will be served beginning at 1:00. Bring your own drinks (no alcohol please).

There will be at least six temporary caches to find that you may log as an additional "I Attended: if you wish. I will also try to place one permanent cache for release the day of the event if I can manage to squeeze another one into the park. Handouts for the event caches will be provided. If you want to search for any other caches in the area please load them or print them out before arriving.

The caches in the park are: GC15NW4, 1822T, XWMP, Z7J2, 1BHK2, 107EZ, YHDM, ZJRC and 104J4.

Thanks to OPPS5 and the 3E's for helping me put this together and keeping it a secret.

UPDATE 7/5; Lisbon Community Park had no flooding during the June rains. Mosquitoes are about normal for this time of the year. 5 temps are already in place with 3 or 4 more to be added. There will be one new permanent hide. All will be along trails and bushwacking will be no more than a few feet. Hope to see you there.

UPDATE 7/21; Ten temporary caches are in place. I just had a new permanent cache published near the park and I will be submitting five new permanent hides in the surrounding area for publication on the day of the event. The mosquitoes aren't too bad in the park until you get into the woods. Half of the temps are in open areas and the ones in the woods have little or no bushwacking required. Bug spray is probaly appropriate if you will be searching for the temps. We will be in a large covered shelter in a grassy area with plenty of picnic tables. Parking and toilets are both within 100' of the shelter. We have managed to keep the event a secret from Sunshine and we're looking forward to seeing everyone on Sunday.
