This is the fifth of my annual end of summer get togethers. Hope to see a great turnout again this year. And we hope to have the great weather from previous years as well. Hopefully my luck hasn't run out.
As in past picnics, bring something for your group to grill for themselves. Also a side dish, dessert, or beverage to share if you want. I know there is a growing number of vegetarian cachers who I'm sure will have some non-meat dishes to share as well. We always seem to have a great selection of delicious food. Post your intentions as a note so others don't duplicate too much. Not that you can ever have too many chips. Depending on how many children are coming there will be some kids activities and a big field to play in. There are a couple of covered tables and I'll have an E-Z UP just in case the weather decides to get nasty. Let's have a great turn out and meet as many new people as we can, as well as our regulars who make it to all the events. Dogs are allowed on a leash. Be sure to bring coins and travel bugs to send south for the winter. Let just try and get them logged promptly. Also we want to have help for anyone not sure on placing a good first cache. Bring along a muggle to show them what we are all about. There will be ample time for everyone who hasn't found area caches to hunt before of after the picnic. It will start at 11:00am and run till around 3:00pm. Hot grills will be provided by me for those who wish to BBQ food. Come and see if I can possibly come up with some new goofy game this year. I hope to be able to offer some door prizes again too. I know the high gas prices are keeping many folks near home this year. Look for other thing happening this weekend to make it worthwhile for a trip to the Bangor area. If you've never come out to an event, then make this your first. You won't be disappointed. Just ask anyone whose been!
