Padroeiro Universal das Missões
Francisco Xavier nasceu a 7 de Abril de 1506 no Castelo de Xavier em Espanha, onde na Capela se encontra ainda hoje, o Cristo do Sorriso, diante do qual ele rezou.
Em 24 de Junho de 1537, Xavier é ordenado Sacerdote em Veneza com mais alguns companheiros.
Francisco Xavier destinado às Missões das Índias parte para Lisboa e em 7 de abril de 1541, dia do seu 35º aniversário embarca para a Índia.
Na Índia promoveu intensamente a Evangelização e
Fundou Comunidades Cristãs, Escolas e Casas da Companhia, o Colégio de S. Paulo.
Percorre as terras do Cabo Comorim, Malaca, Sumatra, Bornéu, Celebes, Ambóino, Ternate, Moro, Cochim, etc...Ali quase ninguém ouvira falar de Jesus Cristo, catequiza e baptiza muita gente...
Esteve no Japão onde evangeliza durante mais de 2 anos e regressa à Índia, com o projecto de ir evangelizar a China.
Na madrugada de 3 de Dezembro de 1552 morre já em território da China, na Ilha de Sanchoão, com o nome de Jesus nos lábios.
Em 12 de Março de 1622 é canonizado pelo Papa Gregório XV, juntamente com Santo Inácio de Loiola, e em 1904 é proclamado pelo Papa Pio X, Padroeiro Universal das Missões.
A Cache está escondida nos terrenos em redor do Hospital São Francisco Xavier e a ventoinha de certeza que lhe iria dar muito jeito.
O local costuma estar muito calmo e sem grandes perturbações à pesquisa.

On March 12, 1622 is canonized by Pope Gregory XV, along with St. Ignatius of Loyola, and is proclaimed in 1904 by Pope Pius X, Universal patron saint of missions.
