The winners were: Prize donated by Nick~MacCache, Constance; unactivated Antus BN Laptop Coin, N1WTQ; Groundspeak 2007 Lackey coin, Parmachenee; "Geocaching for Dummies" book autographed by Lilypad staff, Ekidokai; Groundspeak 2007 Lackey coin, Nick~MacCache; Miniature Ammo can with contents for cache, Dr.Feelgood; Groundspeak Signal Plush, Will of Team Richards and Groundspeak 2007 Lackey coin, Medawisla (I think she won a coin last year too!). Thank you to everyone who came, braved the weather, stayed, enjoyed breakfast, and helped to make this a success. Cache On - Cache Happy! A few folks have called to ask - will this be canceled? The answer NO. I have a couple of EzEUps and it's a go. Perhaps won't be a social if there is rain or a drizzle but it will happen. So will breakfast in the AM Sunday. Come, drop in, sign the log book, get a smilie - camp if you want and if it's raining or drizzing - the rest is up to you. This event piggy backs on the The Last Cache Bashe of Summer 2008 event. It allows folks to gas save by camping out and staying in the area, inexpensively, for another day of caching. If you are not a camper, it gives you a second event in the area in a different venue, at a different time of day for the sharing of geo-fun.

Chances for Geocaching talk – TB/Geocoin trading table – cache container swap (last year there were a few cute containers brought to swap – please think about bringing one) – swag swap (got swag and want to swap, bring some and take some) – place to camp – caches nearby - fire ring at night – large grassy are for tenting – lots of caches in the area – and perhaps help with use of GSAK, wireless and paperless caching. Plenty of grass for camping, there will be a port-a-potty, hot tub will be available and you may use it, caches nearby if you want to do a run, table for TBs and coin trading and/or discovery, cache container/cache supply swap table, caching discussion, wifi available on the deck, pot luck supper and then coffee, tea, hot chocolate and light fare on Sunday morning.

Event will be held – Rain or Shine – come prepared for the weather – bring your swim suit and towels (if you wish to use the hot tub). Talk about caching, enjoy the companionship of other cachers, meet people who put out caches or just come to swap travel bugs, coins or discover them. Take a night walk and do a few local caches – all within 2 miles.

Event starts at 4:00 P.M. and will end with a “Cook’s choice” breakfast on the deck between 7:00 A.M. and 9 A.M. on Sunday morning. From here, everyone can take off to return home or find caches on their way home. The closest cache is within ¼ mile and walkable from the camping.

Geocaching Stuff!!!!!!

• TBs Coins and other trackables should be placed on the designated table on the deck for swapping, trading and discovery.
• If you have personal coins you are carrying – please share them with others.
• Cache container – swap – there will be a table available if you want to bring a pre-made container or anything which may be fashioned into a container. Bring one and take one. It will be fun to see how the juices may flow with imagination here. Also you may bring logs, short pencils, pens – anything to contribute so we can get supplies from one another to make new caches. Swag is also welcome. Put it on the table or location designated. Be fair with one another when considering what you take and try to make your swaps somewhat equal. Does anyone have any unique containers to swap? Have we camoed some containers and just didn’t have a place to put them? This would be a chance to get some containers into the hands of some who might be willing to place them. Please consider participating by bringing something for this part of the fun.br>• WiFi – Paperless – GSAK all this stuff. There should be plenty of folks at this event who may help you and bring your laptop and try it out.

Food

Food is always part of a Geocaching event. The evening meal will be pot luck and at no specific time! I will have one grill to use and anyone is welcome to bring another. Nothing special is planned but if everyone posts what they are bringing we can plan accordingly.
Please bring a cooler as I do hot have extra frig space. Also, there are several take outs in town and I will have menus available. On Sunday morning, I will put together a buffet breakfast. It will be light fare. No one needs to bring anything (except for your supper contribution) unless you are a picky eater or want something special. Things will start going out between 7AM & 8 AM.

Schedule of Events

I will be here no later than 4PM to welcome folks. Please – no arrivals during Mainiac1957’s event from 11 – 3P! Folks will be at their leisure to enjoy the field, talk caching and pitch their tents, meet ~ greet ~ socialize.

5:30 to 6ish we should share our evening food – or can order pizza. If cache runs are going to be done – this discussion to have taken place and folks can move off to do so.

After sunset – we can light a fire and sit around the fire ring. Use of the hot tub is anytime – just come to me and let me know and I will show you what to do.

Quiet hour from 12 MN - 7 AM

Sunday 7 AM - 9 AM - Buffet breakfast - light fare. Pick up rigging and depart to cache. By popular request - one thing on the menu will be the Overnight Strawberry Banana French Toast!

All geocachers are welcome! Please log your intentions – questions – please email me. Looking forward to this get together!

Parking will be clearly marked and camping is down back behind the house - there is plenty of room. Questions – please ask either before or when you arrive. Dogs are welcome ~ must be on leash or voice command. Only well behaved dogs please!

This should be a fun opportunity for folks to stay over and enjoy a whole weekend in our area for an extended event beyond the “Last Cache Bashe of the Summer 2008” (GC1DK74) here in Maine. This is being held in consultation with Mainiac1957. All are welcome – even if not coming to Mainiac 1957’s Saturday event, if you can come for the just the evening or overnight – join us. Logging your intention to attend is important so I can have enough breakfast food. Please log your intentions as soon as you are sure you can attend. If plans change – please post that too. Thank You and looking forward to a great turn out!
