the island community center provides many programs for island
people of all ages. a very popular farmer's market is held here
from 9 to 12 on friday mornings during the summer and fall.
before the new junior-senior high school was built in deer isle,
this building housed the stonington junior high, the lab, the wood
shop and gym. i can remember vividly my 7th and 8th grade classes,
and also high school classes in such fun subjects as biology,
geometry, chemistry and physics in the lab.
there is plenty of parking very close to the cache.
