Geocache Description:

A keysafe hidden on the slipway near Richmond Bridge

It's long been suspected that London is the most expensive place in the world to park a car, a fact borne out by a recent study. Perhaps it is this that leads a surprising number of motorists to park at the bottom of this slope after the double yellow lines stop. What they don't seem to appreciate is that the Thames is a tidal river, and those lines were probably painted at high tide...

A few times a year you may witness the spectacle of a partially submerged car here, to the horror of the motorist, and, depending on the appeal of Schadenfreude, some amusement to the onlookers.

Richmond bridge itself is, apparently, the oldest bridge over the Thames in Greater London. The bench nearby affords a good view of the bridge, but then again so does just about every spot along this part of the Thames.

PLEASE NOTE: The Thames is a tidal river and the water level is very variable. Whilst a normal tide will not make the cache location dangerous, the river here does on occasion experience exceptionally high water levels and burst its banks. If the water level is at or near the steps leading down from the bridge, you must not attempt this cache.
The slope would make it impractical for wheelchairs. Children should of course be supervised as it is near water.

Needless to say, don't leave your car here while you go off caching!
