The cache leads you to a nice hiking trail on the south face of the Begunjscica with great views to the valley and mountains south of the Loibl pass. The name of the trail (and of the cache) reminds of its builder, the jewish Baron F. von Born from Berlin, who erected this trail to reach his famous hunting grounds, or, as sometimes was said, to meet his mistresses. The baron tried to flee from the Nazis during the Second World War, but he was captured and murdered in the concentration camp Mauthausen.
Overlooking the valley you can also see the concentration camp memorial Loibl south, to remember and never forget, I will say it with Adorno, that "the most important goal of education has to be that something like Auschwitz will never happen again" (visit link: www.u-berg.at/texte/loibl_kz.htm).
The trail is easy to walk but it leads through steep slopes and you have to pass a tunnel, therefore the terrain rating is set higher. All parts of the trail that lead through steep slopes are made safe by steel ropes, but be very careful with children! To reach the cache you have to be free of giddiness and you should not suffer from claustrophobia. I recommend to use hiking boots and a good torch!
The cache itself is placed directly near the trail, so there is no need to climb and search at the steep slopes!
Start your hunt from the parking area near the "Dom oaza miru" and walk to the starting point, where the trail begins. Follow the trail in direction "Prevala / Roblekov dom" to the cache.

Der Cache führt dich zu einem schönen Steig an der Südseite der Begunjscica mit tollem Ausblick auf das Tal und die Bergwelt südlich vom Loiblpass. Der Name des Steigs (und des Cache) bezieht sich auf den Erbauer, einen jüdischen Bankier aus Berlin, Baron F. von Born, der hier ein Jagdschloss besaß und den Steig errichtete, um zu seinen bevorzugten Jagdgründen zu gelangen - manche erzählen auch, um hier seine Mätressen zu treffen. Während des Zweiten Weltkriegs versuchte der Baron vor den Nazis zu fliehen, er wurde aber gefangen genommen und im KZ Mauthausen ermordet.
Beim Blick ins Tal sieht man auch die Gedenkstätte für das ehemalige KZ Loibl Süd, in dem Gräueltaten an der Tagesordnung waren (visit link: www.u-berg.at/texte/loibl_kz.htm). Zum Gedenken und Erinnern möchte ich hier Adorno zitieren, dass "das oberste Ziel von Erziehung sein muss, dass so etwas wie Auschwitz nie mehr passieren darf".
Der Weg selbst ist mehr oder weniger eben und leicht zu gehen, er führt allerdings duch steile Hänge und man muss auch einen Stollen passieren, daher das höhere Terrain-rating. Alle ausgesetzteren Stellen des Steigs sind gut mit Stahlseilen versichert, ich bitte allerdings um besondere Vorsicht mit Kindern! Um den Cache zu erreichen, sollte man schwindelfrei sein und nicht unter Klaustrophobie leiden. Ich empfehle, gute Wanderschuhe zu verwenden und eine gute Taschenlampe mitzunehmen!
Der Cache selbst ist ungefährlich direkt neben dem Steig versteckt, man muss sich also nicht ins steile Gelände wagen!
Beginne die Suche am Parkplatz beim "Dom oaza miru" und gehe zum Startpunkt, wo der eigentliche Steig beginnt. Folge dem Weg in Richtung "Prevala / Roblekov dom" bis zum Cache.
