Cache is about 7m from the campground road in a small clear tupperware-type of container & contains various swag, as well as the logbook (from the original Roseberry cache), pencil, and geocache note. There's also a 3rd to Find prize sitting outside of the container.
Rosebery Provincial Park is located about 5 km. North of New Denver on Hwy. 6. To the west across Slocan Lake is the Valhalla Provincial Park. “Tucked along the banks of Wilson Creek, this park has an intimate forested creek setting that offers secluded camping."
I would suggest driving to the Park entrance about 1 km off Highway 6, and either drive or walk through the campground. Ratings are based on this approach. As you walk towards the cache site on the road, look up and you’ll see a peek of the Valhalla Range of the Selkirk Mountains – hence a “Peek of Peaks”. The first cache by this name was archived and relocated because of the new BC Parks policy of a maximum 3 year cache life in the same location.
Roseberry Provincial Park is a good staging area for backcountry exploring of nearby Valhalla, Kokanee Glacier and Goat Range Provincial Parks. Visitors can also explore the numerous ghost mining towns nearby or relax in the many commercial or undeveloped natural hot springs in the area.”
Campground gates open May 1 – Sept. 27, but the park is open year round unless inaccessible due to weather conditions during the off season.
