How Geocaching Works
Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer
This cache is located in a well maintained public cemetary in the city of Fairbank. The containers for stages two and three are camo covered Altoids gum canisters. Park on the road in the cemetery. Please respect the location by waiting until another time if services are being held.
This 3-stage multicache will require you to first find a white, WWI military tombstone at the above listed coordinates. Clues from this stone will take you to the second stage container which will contain coordinates for the final stage. The final container holds a log book only - no pencil.
To locate the second stage container, find the regiment number of the private who served during World War One. Add that number plus 2 to the north coordinate. Also add that number (regiment) plus 32 to the west coordinate. Now you have the location of stage two. The coordinates for the final stage are in the stage two container.
The regiment in which the private served was a general construction regiment assigned to the Services of Supply of the AEF in France during WW1. It was disbanded at Camp Grant, Illinois in July 1919.
THANKS TO ALL OF OUR VETERANS.
