Geocache Description:

This is a wonderful hike to Crater Lake at the top of the Smithers ski hill on Hudson Bay Mountain. It is a very popular trail for all ages and takes about 1 to 2 hours depending on age and fitness.

The hike across the mountain prairie to Crater lake is through the site where Disney filmed the movie Eight Below. The cache is a small plastic container in a plastic bag located near Crater lake. It contains a log book and pencil and a few small trade items. enjoy the view and if you are in for a little hard work, another half hour hike will get you to the top of the ridge giving you an incredible view of Smithers and the Bulkley Valley. This cache is a great summer cache but may be may be dificult to find in the winter.
