Geocache Description:

I came by this obscure little cemetery last year for the first time. I found it very interesting and reminiscent of a couple of potters' fields I have visited in the past. I've been wanting to put something here for a while and today was the day. Unfortunately, today the Livingston County Historic Museum was closed, so I wasn't able to glean any history for this place, but I plan on going back when they are opened and add to this description when I learn more. If any of you out there can add any knowledge, please feel free to insert it in your logs.

So! you are looking for a well camoed container with some small swag and a FTF prize and log. BYOP.

This is such a nice peaceful area despite it's proximity to Wallyworld, and there are picnic tables. So, while you're logging in have a seat and join these folk and rest your bones, so to speak. Be sure to read the poignant message on the large boulder near the flagpole. The cache is not inside the gate in the cemetery itself, and I know that you will show great respect for your surroundings and the souls that reside here.
Enjoy this small area and thanks for stopping by here

Note: added 08-21-08........ A trip to the museum today has brought a little light to the matter of the who, what, where, when, and whys of this little cemetery. It seems that many long years ago there was a "Poor House" or County Home, as it were, north of the Lake Conesus Geneseo Road and west of where Walmart now stands. The buildings still stand. The larger in some disrepair. The others being used as businesses. It was also lesser known as an asylum. The poor souls buried here are said to have died at this institution, and their stones were only provided with initials and their age to protect their families from embarrassment. God Bless these souls.

Congratulations to Killerb for being the FTF!
