Literary Chase Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

IowaBeaver: Unfortunately, the log book has not shown up. I was waiting to see if it was reshelved in the right place. The library suggested archiving the cache so I am now archiving the cache. Thanks to all who searched for it.

Cache placement approved by the Bettendorf Library.

Start your journey
Look all a round.
Four pillars and a ball
Is the direction you're bound.
Look carefully to see
A date of Passage you'll find.
The last is the first in this journey long.
Beware for the traffic you should mind.
Look all around for wheels that clack.
A date you seek,
The second in the year
your second to keep.
Start walking 'round a building you see,
Keep going until an author is found.
A path you must follow to succeed
With flowers in Summer and Spring all around.
Be sure to read carefully
"Miss Emily" is the key
Count five and eleven more
Two words it must be.
Add the letters together
For the last number you desire
For halfway is reached
Continue on - do not retire!
Walk around to the front.
Enter the portal straight through to the gate
Four steps will bring you through
You must keep going, don't hesitate.
Twenty five steps more or less
Heading toward the place where answers come.
Stop. Look off in the distance
A spectacle of color awaits.
Choose the color lonely and keep your stance,
For the first letter is the fourth!
A word in silver, seven letters long
Seek to the left
It stands tall, alone and strong.
The silver third is the fifth
And the last is the last.
Now go and find the prize
I hope this has been a blast!
