NICE HIKE ON THE LAUREL HIGHLANDS HIKING TRAIL.
JUST IN TIME FOR THE FALL COLORS.
Here's a nice hike along the Laurel Highlands Hiing Trail.
Total round trip hike is close to 2.5 miles from the listed parking area, but you can make it much longer if you choose. Enjoy the scenary on the way. The terrain rating is a 1.5 along the LHHT, the last 600 feet is a bushwack so it jumps to a 2.5-3.0 depending on your approach. The area passed the cache is dangerous, and you should be extremly careful.
There are high cliffs and deep cracks through out this rocky ledge. Allow yourself some time to explore this area. If you venture down and around the cliffs, I went to the far right, there are some very interseting sites as well as rock crevices to explore. I would not attempt this cache with snow cover as the nooks and crannies could not be seen, and finding the cache would be difficult. The 2.5 mile road in to the listed parking coords is a litttle rough in spots, my car made it once without any problems, but my truck was a better ride and winter maintenance is slim to none. I think the view from here is rather nice, and camera worthy, but your mileage may vary. This cache is in the Pa. State Gamelands #111, and as so all thier rules and regs apply. Hunting season is open. As always remember the woods will stab, stick, bite, and make you itch, so be wary. If you venture out onto the rocks, use caution and hang on to your little ones. As always be safe, and kind to your enviroment. This is not hidden so as not to be found but please rehide well so it doesn't get muggled. Enjoy the area, but be careful.
