Pier Cemetery is a small family plot on the south side of Fond du Lac. The Piers were the first family to live in the area when it was first established by the Fond du Lac Land Company. Colwert Pier and his wife, Fanna, arrived in 1836 to maintain the companies holdings. It wasn't too many years later that Fanna became the first deceased white person in Fond du Lac County. She was buried on this plot of land, which became the family plot for the Pier Farm. A large marker has been erected at this site, with additional history. The cemetery is gated and admittance is not allowed. But you can get the information you need from outside the walls to finish these coordinates: N43.45.ABC W88.26.XYZ 2167 minus the year the marker was dedicated = ABC 2207 minus the date above the arched entrance = XYZ The container is a short walk or drive from this area and is not in the cemetery. An interesting piece of Fond du Lac history. Congrats to JT Cache Finder on FTF!
