Svenska: Tingbergs kulle, i folkmun även kallad Galgkullen fungerade som Ale härads avrättningsplats fram till 1857.
Den sista avrättningen gällde förövarna av postrånet vid "Båstorps Bräcka" i Skepplanda socken.
English: Tingbergs hill, locally known as gallows hill, acted as Ale rural court's execution site until 1857. The last perpetrators executed here, were the post robbers from “Båstorps Bräcka” in Skepplanda parish.

Johan Persson i Hede och Smeden Johan Petter Karlsson på Höga Liden har återberättat sina föräldrars berättelser om avrättningarna på Tingbergs kulle.
Det berättas att det var många åskådare vid avrättningstillfällena.
När en avrättning skulle ske inkallades rotebönder från häradet och bildade vaktkedja runt kullen. Vakterna sägs ha haft en hässjestör i handen.
När postrånarna från Båstorps Bräcka skulle avrättas 1857 kom dom i hästdragen fångtransport till kullens nordöstra sida. Där fick de välja att gå ett varv runt kullen och upp till stupstocken eller att gå direkt. En valde att gå runt kullen. Den mest hårdföre valde att rakt upp till stupstocken. När den sistnämnde kommit upp till stupstocken vände han sig mot åskådarna och frågade om de trodde att det varit mera folk vid Frälsarens korsfästelse än här idag.
När avrättningen verkställts var det en farbror som gick fram till bödeln och bad att få ta en av de avrättades stövlar, då de var för ”goa” för att grävas ned, han nekades.
Vid ett annat avrättningstillfälle lär en gumma ha kommit med en flaska och velat ha färskt blod från en avrättad då blod skulle kunna bota fallandesjukan (Epilepsi)

Johan Persson of Hede and the Black Smith Johan Petter Karlsson of Höga Liden have retold their parents' stories about the executions on Tingberg’s hill.
It is said that there were many spectators at the executions.
When an execution was to take place, the local farmers were summoned to form a guard chain around the hill. The guards are said to have had hay rack sticks in their hands.
When the post robbers from Båstorps Bräcke were to be executed in 1857, they came in a horse drawn prisoner wagon to the hill’s north eastern side. They then had to choose either to go one lap around the hill and then up to the scaffold, or to go straight up to the scaffold. One chose to go around the hill. The toughest of them all, chose to go straight up. When the latter reached the scaffold, he turned to the spectators and asked if they thought that there had been more people at the Saviour’s crucifixion than today.
When the execution was carried out, there was an elderly man who went to the executioner and asked if he could take one of the executed’s boots, as they were too good to be buried, but he was denied.
At another execution, it was told that an old woman came with a bottle and wanted fresh blood from an executed since the blood could cure “falling disease” (Epilepsy).
