Drip Beach is another pleasant but small beach south of Hobart. The cache is above the beach and needs a scramble to get to.
Local myths had it that if Randells Bay Beach was rough then Drip Beach would be calm and vice versa. Drip Beach has some interesting "Lace Agate" pebbles.
The quarry at the southern end provided road surfacing material around Cygnet, and in days gone by the bright shiny surface made driving "challenging" in bright sunlight, but you could see it well by moonlight.
There is no beach at high-tide so you may have to walk back along the road a bit to scramble down to the cache. Either way, beach or road, there's a scrubby scramble near the cache and it's best to stop and look at the terrain and tracks rather than "Follow that needle".
Watch out for the cliffs near the beach and cache.
Cache is medium Sistema with log book, pen and several "sea-creatures".
