Mt. Wire and Solsbury Hill Wasatch
Looks better in the winter
This cache is part of the M.T. Promises series. Be sure to make a note of the clue contained on the log.
The original Solsbury Hill is in England, near the city of Bath. It is 625 feet high and is often erroneously referred to as "Salisbury Hill", being confused with the city of that name. Solsbury Hill was used as a fort between 300 and 100 BC. King Arthur lore permeates the area. Today, an Internet search for "Solsbury Hill" returns many more references to the famous Peter Gabriel song than to the hill itself.
Solsbury Hill UK
Solsbury Hill Wasatch is the little sister of Mt. Wire. From the trailhead on Sunnyside Avenue, the hike to the 5,775 foot summit gains 830 vertical feet. It is an easy-to-moderate and pleasant hike.

The search for this geocache will take you to the summit of Solsbury Hill Wasatch. A good place to park is:
Hogle 5-9-5.
The Encroachment of Mankind
There is a nice trail all the way to the summit. From the trailhead you can go either straight or to the right. For the easiest approach, your goal should be the trail that leads up the small valley to the northwest of the hill.
Winter
The cache should be accessible in the winter. I placed it on January 1 after significant snowfall, and the area of the cache was surprisingly snow-free.
Solsbury Hill Wasatch
The view from the summit is quite stunning.
Solstice Ring
A day or so after fresh snow, it is usually possible to walk to the cache without snowshoes. The trail is popular and quickly compacted.
