"NARUSAWA ICE CAVE" is one of the representative lava caves of the Fuji foot of a mountain with "FUGAKU LAVA CAVE".
The cave which became these two tunnel types was made by the lava flow on the occasion of the eruption of Mt. Fuji of 1130 years ago.
After receiving specification of the natural treasure of a country, it is introduced globally, and it has become a precious existence on geology.
This name was given from the cover with ice all the year round.
Especially the icicle that was able to freeze and do the waterdrop which oozed out from the ceiling is spectacular.
It will grow up most around April and the huge thing of 50cm in diameter and 3m in height will be seen occasionally.
Since the total extension is annular at 153m, it can go around an inside.
The tree type lava group of Narusawa-village is called world eminence with the number of spiracle.

鳴沢氷穴は富岳風穴とならび富士山麓の代表的な溶岩洞窟の一つです。
今から1130年以上前の富士山の噴火の際に、溶岩流が流れ下ってできたのが、この二つのトンネル式になった洞窟です。
国の天然記念物の指定を受けてから世界的に紹介され、地質学上、貴重な存在となっています。
内部の気温は平均3度と低く、一年中氷におおわれていることから、この名が付きました。
天井からしみ出した水滴が凍ってできた氷柱は特に見ものです。
4月ごろに最も成長し、年によっては直径50cm、高さ3mという巨大なものが見られます。
総延長は153mで環状になっているため、内部を一周することができます
鳴沢村の樹型溶岩群は、スパイラクルの数では世界有数といわれています。
