Im Jahre 1712 erhielt ein gewisser Andreas Schmitt aus Otterberg
das Recht, die ehemalige Willerung (verwildertes Gebiet) für 20
Jahre zu nutzen. Ihm war gestattet, einen Hof samt Scheune im
sogenannten Grobenthal zu bauen. Mehrere Besitzwechsel
erfolgten, bis im Jahre 1845 die Bayrische Forstverwaltung das
Anwesen erwarb. Erst seit 1978 erfolgte die Umwandlung zur jetzigen
Nutzung durch die Stadt Otterberg. Im Volksmund spricht man noch
heute vom Growedal.
Die oben angegebenen Koordinaten haben natürlich keine
Bedeutung. Zu Beginn begebe dich ins Grobenthal und finde den hier
abgebildeten Stein. Dort kann man übrigens auch bequem parken. Die
Streckenlänge beträgt ingesamt ca. 4km und ist auch mit einem
geländetauglichen Kinderwagen zu schaffen.
Gehe nun zur Quelle, die dem Hof als Wasserversorgung diente und
suche nach einem ersten Hinweis. Über eine weitere Zwischenstation
führen dann unterschiedliche Wege zur nächsten Station. Dort
angekommen schau dir die Inschrift genau an und zähle die
Buchstaben:
A = Anzahl Buchstaben e
B = Anzahl Buchstaben i
C = Anzahl Buchstaben s
Das Finale findest du dann in einer Entfernung von 'A+B'A Metern
in Richtung BBC°.

In the year 1712 Andreas Schmitt from Otterberg acquired the
right to cultivate a formerly savaged area for a period of 20
years. He was allowed to build a farm including barn at the
so-called Grobenthal. The ownership of the location changed
several times until 1845 the Bavarian forrest administration bought
it. Since 1978 the original purpose has been reorganized by the
city of Otterberg to the current facility. According to local lore,
the place is still called Growedal nowadays.
The above stated coordinates have no meaning. At the beginning
of the cache go to the Grobenthal and look for the stone shown on
the picture. There you may park your car quite conveniently. The
overall distance is about 4km and may also be done with a
cross-country capable buggy.
Now go to the spring which served as water supply for the farm
and look there for a first hint. After a second intermediate stage,
several alternative routes will lead you to the next stage.
Carefully look at the inscription and count the letters:
A = number letter e
B = number letter i
C = number letter s
The final is located in a distance of 'A+B'A meters with a
bearing of BBC°.
