In the Driftless Area of Wisconsin, where this cache is located, there aren't really any lakes. Anything called a "lake" is usually a dammed up spot in a river. That's true of Lake Neshonoc in West Salem, created by the nearby dam on the LaCrosse River. Although the lake has had its ups and downs, spawning a Carp Festival in years past, vigorous efforts by the local Lake District Association have resulted in an area noted for all season recreation. Camping, boating, fishing and even an ice race in the winter are all part of the local scene.
The cache is located near a small pull off along the highway, where you can enjoy a lake view as you hunt for this cache.
