This cache is along a biking walking trail in Cedar Rapids. The trail is closed 10 PM to 6 AM. Please observe all trail rules and hours to ensure we retain the privilege of placing caches.
This is a single stage micro cache. The cache contains a log only. Please use discretion when hunting and replace the cache as found. Hunt this cache at your own risk. Permission granted by the authority for the area. A portion of this trail follows the path of part of a steam utility system that provided economical power and heat for many large buildings and businesses in the center of the city. The plant that supplied the steam was severely damaged in the June 2008 flood and will not be rebuilt. Though steam is being provided by a temporary natural gas fired system, many share a concern that the absence of afforadable steam will severely impact the business climate in the city. Note: During mid 2013 the steam system was removed and the cache was relocated nearby.
