Geocache Description:

A walk through this park will show some recent improvements. The banks of Beaver Creek were recently improved. The steep banks where cut back and rip rap was placed along them to prevent further wash outs. At the same time lunkers and logs were placed in the creek to provide new trout habitat along with pinching the creek narrower to increase the water flow and dredge some deep pockets behind boulders. A recent expansion of the band shell will allow for better protection from the weather for musicians and performers.

Concerts in the Park happen every Wednesday night throughout the summer. Winter time will bring the Rotary Lights to the park for a nice winter stroll through the park.

Evans-Bosshard Park is named after John Bosshard, who was a prominent area attorney who sold the land to the city in 1963 to complete this park. Even S. Evans was a Veteran of the Spanish American War and donated the land to the City of Sparta in 1957.
